Lilah Parsons mole check“Hi I’m Lilah Parsons, I’m here at Cosmedics. It’s Skin Cancer Awareness Month and I’m having a mole check.

“It’s so important to keep an eye on your skin, to have a professional eye look over it, make sure that everything is happy and healthy, particularly as we’re heading into the summer months.

“I’ve got very pale skin, I’ve got quite a lot of moles and it’s just so nice to have that reassurance. I try and keep an eye on them myself and check if I see anything that’s looking out of the ordinary; but to have that professional eye to check and tell you that everything’s OK – it’s very helpful.”

Skin Cancer Awareness Month

Skin Cancer Awareness Month is dedicated to raising awareness and understanding of how to prevent, detect and treat skin cancer, which is actually the most common form of cancer in the USA and the UK.

Skin cancer is one of the most preventable forms of cancer, so the awareness month also seeks to promote sensible sun habits and which is why the event organisers are keen to promote facts about the dangers of unprotected sun exposure and the importance of checking for  suspicious blemishes.
